To whom it may concern,
As a 100% disabled 28yr retired veteran it has been tough navigating the assorted nonprofits out there. Many have lacked substance and action. I was told by my friend a 40yr veteran about the great work some guy named Grady was doing for him and others. At the time I was also a venue volunteer hosting veterans and their families out for a day on the lake. Grady called then came out to my house and told me what Weekends with Warriors was and how they helped veterans with the motto “brothers helping brothers”. At the time he was helping a group of veterans with a memorial service that would happen in a few weeks. After talking with Grady I offered to host an event with him. He not only coordinated everything but came out in advance and after to ensure everything was done correctly. 65 veterans and their family members came out for the day after the memorial service and Grady made sure everything was taken care of for them. Grady was a man of substance and action and has been since the day i met him. His motto “Brothers helping Brothers” is an understatement because the connections made and network established has been more beneficial to me and others then any therapy out there. We are volunteers not victims and Grady sees us for the volunteers we are and treats us accordingly which is a huge difference in moving forward in life. If your looking to support a nonprofit that shows by its actions it does then support Weekends with Warriors and make a positive difference in a long term outcome.
